Pecan Topped Toffee

Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter ⓘ
  • 1 c. brown sugar ⓘ
  • 6 (1 3/8 oz.) milk chocolate bars or 1 1/4 c. milk chocolate chips ⓘ
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans ⓘ

Instructions

  1. In deep narrow saucepan, melt butter and sugar; boil to 300°, hard candy stage.
  2. Stir constantly.
  3. Pour into greased 9 x 9-inch pan.
  4. Layer chocolate over hot candy; spread evenly when melted.
  5. Sprinkle with pecans; press lightly.
  6. Refrigerate 1 hour (no longer).
  7. Turn out and break into pieces.
