Peggie's Egg Nog is a rich, creamy holiday beverage blending eggs, dairy, and a variety of spirits, perfect for festive gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 pints whipping cream
  • 1.5 cups light rum
  • 1 quart milk
  • 4 pints half and half
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 2 cups bourbon

Instructions

  1. Combine milk, half and half, and sugar in a large bowl until ingredients dissolve.
  2. Separate eggs and beat yolks well.
  3. Using low speed on an electric mixer, add brandy very slowly to the yolks.
  4. In the same manner, add rum and bourbon.
  5. Add the milk-sugar mixture to the yolk mixture and stir well.
  6. Beat egg whites until they hold soft peaks.
  7. Beat cream until it is firm, but not too stiff.
  8. Fold the cream into the liquor mixture.
  9. Fold in the beaten egg whites.
  10. Grate a small amount of nutmeg on top.
  11. Chill the egg nog overnight.
  12. Stir or shake before serving.
