Braided Sweet Bread

- Scald the milk and stir in sugar, margarine, and salt. Cool to lukewarm.
- In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water.
- Stir in the lukewarm milk mixture, beaten eggs, and half the flour. Beat until smooth.
- Stir in the remaining flour to make a stiff but sticky dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into three equal parts and braid them together.
- Place the braided dough on a greased baking sheet.
- Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle with almonds.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve.
