Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 (7 oz) can diced green chilies
  • 1 can Cheddar cheese soup
  • 1 dozen corn tortillas (1/4-inch pieces)
  • 1 small can evaporated milk
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese shredded
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet.
  2. Add green chilies and cook for 10 minutes.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic salt to taste.
  4. Add Cheddar cheese soup and evaporated milk; simmer for 5 to 7 minutes.
  5. Layer corn tortilla pieces in a baking dish, then pour beef mixture over them.
  6. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Bake until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 20 minutes.
