Ingredients

  • 1 onion, peeled and quartered
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 lemon, sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. Tabasco
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 lb. unpeeled headless shrimp
  • 2 tsp. liquid crab boil
  • 3 Tbsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Fill a 5-quart pot half full of water and bring to a boil.
  2. Add all ingredients except shrimp, crab boil, and salt; return to a boil and then add the shrimp and crab boil.
  3. Boil for 5 minutes, then stir in salt to dissolve.
  4. Cover the pot and remove from heat.
  5. Let the shrimp set for 30 minutes, then remove drained shrimp and cover with ice.
  6. Serve immediately or chilled.
