Persian Chicken features tender chicken marinated in lemon, turmeric, and garlic salt, baked to perfection with a flavorful gravy, perfect served over rice for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken, cut up or 6 chicken breasts
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • Juice from 4 to 6 lemons

Instructions

  1. Remove skin from chicken, if desired.
  2. Mix all ingredients and add chicken to the mixture.
  3. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 24 to 48 hours.
  4. Bake, covered, at 350°F (175°C) for 1.5 hours.
  5. Uncover and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
  6. Serve over rice, with the gravy spooned over.
