Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter or shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  2. Cream 1/2 cup butter.
  3. Add 1 cup sugar; mix well.
  4. Add egg; beat 1 minute. Combine buttermilk and vanilla; add alternately with dry ingredients to the cream mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  5. Mix thoroughly after each addition.
  6. Add marshmallows and chocolate chips.
  7. Spread in greased, floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
  8. Combine brown sugar, 2 tablespoons butter and nuts. Sprinkle over the batter.
  9. Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes.
