Tips & Substitutions

For a creamier texture, consider adding sour cream or cream cheese to the mashed potatoes. If you're short on time, pre-packaged mashed potatoes can be a convenient substitute. You can also use different cheeses like mozzarella or a blend of cheeses for added flavor. For a healthier twist, try adding cooked spinach or kale to the potato mixture.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the pierogi casserole hot, garnished with fresh herbs like chives or parsley for added flavor. It pairs beautifully with a side of sautéed vegetables or a crisp green salad. For a complete meal, consider serving it alongside a light soup, such as a classic borscht or a hearty vegetable soup.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat, cover the casserole with foil and warm it in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 30 minutes, or until heated through. You can also microwave individual portions for a quick meal.
