Sweet, bread-based donuts with a rich vanilla and cinnamon flavor, perfect for a comforting dessert or brunch treat that combines soft bread with a luscious pudding glaze.

Ingredients

  • 2 loaves frozen bread, thawed
  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 small boxes vanilla pudding (cook kind)
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Pinch off pieces of bread and drop them into a greased Bundt pan.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the margarine.
  3. Add the vanilla pudding, milk, brown sugar, and cinnamon to the melted margarine.
  4. Bring the mixture to a low boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat.
  6. Pour the pudding mixture over the bread in the pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes.
  8. Let stand for about 10 minutes after baking.
  9. Turn the donuts out onto foil on a cookie sheet, being careful as the pudding mixture may run.
