- 1 package Pepperidge Farm patty shells
- 1/2 cup chopped onion ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine ⓘ
- 1 cup orange juice ⓘ
- 1/4 cup brown sugar ⓘ
- 1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon ⓘ
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch ⓘ
- 2 cups cooked chicken, cubed ⓘ
- 1 package frozen pea pods ⓘ
- 1/4 cup toasted slivered almonds ⓘ
Instructions
- Prepare the patty shells according to package directions and set aside.
- In a large skillet, sauté chopped onion in butter until translucent.
- Add orange juice, brown sugar, crushed pineapple with juice, and ground cinnamon to the skillet. Bring to a boil.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with a little water to make a slurry, then stir into the pineapple mixture.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
- Add cooked, cubed chicken and frozen pea pods to the skillet. Cook until heated through.
- Spoon the chicken and pineapple mixture into the prepared patty shells.
- Sprinkle with toasted slivered almonds before serving.
