Ingredients

  • 1 package Pepperidge Farm patty shells
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, cubed
  • 1 package frozen pea pods
  • 1/4 cup toasted slivered almonds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the patty shells according to package directions and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, sauté chopped onion in butter until translucent.
  3. Add orange juice, brown sugar, crushed pineapple with juice, and ground cinnamon to the skillet. Bring to a boil.
  4. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with a little water to make a slurry, then stir into the pineapple mixture.
  5. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
  6. Add cooked, cubed chicken and frozen pea pods to the skillet. Cook until heated through.
  7. Spoon the chicken and pineapple mixture into the prepared patty shells.
  8. Sprinkle with toasted slivered almonds before serving.
