Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/3 cups pineapple juice
  • crushed pineapple
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 small can coconut

Instructions

  1. Mix yellow cake mix, eggs, and pineapple juice in a bowl; add water if needed to reach 1 1/3 cups of liquid.
  2. Pour half of the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
  3. Spread crushed pineapple evenly over the batter.
  4. Pour the remaining batter over the pineapple layer.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Prepare the praline mixture by combining melted butter, light brown sugar, chopped pecans, and coconut.
  7. Spread the praline mixture evenly over the baked cake.
  8. Bake for an additional 10 minutes to set the topping.
