- Mix and sift dry ingredients; work in shortening with 2 knives.
- Add eggs well beaten, drained crushed pineapple, and pineapple juice if needed to make a soft dough.
- Turn the dough onto a floured board.
- Pat and roll the dough to 3/4 inch thickness, shaping as square and oblong as possible.
- Cut into triangle shapes.
- Brush the tops with reserved white of egg and sprinkle generously with sugar.
- Bake in a 450°F oven for 12 minutes.
