Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 large jar picante or salsa
  • 2 cans pinto beans
  • 1 package cornbread mix
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef or turkey with the chopped onion.
  2. Drain excess fat and remove from heat.
  3. Transfer the cooked meat and onion into a large rectangular baking dish.
  4. Layer the pinto beans over the meat mixture.
  5. Pour the salsa or picante sauce over the beans.
  6. Spread the cornbread mix evenly on top of the layered ingredients.
  7. Bake at 350°F for about 15 minutes, or until the cornbread is browned.
