Ingredients

  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. cornmeal
  • 3 Tbsp. molasses
  • 2 c. Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. milk

Instructions

  1. Pour boiling water over cornmeal and molasses; let stand for 5 minutes.
  2. Beat remaining ingredients with a rotary beater until smooth; stir in the cornmeal mixture.
  3. Pour the batter from a 1/4-cup measuring cup onto the hot greased griddle.
  4. Cook until bubbles appear on the surface.
  5. Turn and cook the other side until golden brown.
