Ingredients

  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 1/4 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon flavoring

Instructions

  1. Cream the Crisco, butter, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each addition.
  3. Sift together the plain flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  5. Stir in vanilla and lemon flavoring and beat well.
  6. Pour the batter into a tube pan and bake at 325°F for 1 1/2 hours.
