Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hot sausage
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. Velveeta cheese
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 2 tsp. parsley
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 2 loaves party rye bread

Instructions

  1. In separate pans, brown the hot sausage and ground beef.
  2. Drain meats in a colander, then on paper towels until completely drained.
  3. Cut Velveeta cheese into cubes.
  4. Combine the meats with the Velveeta in a pan and melt the cheese.
  5. Add basil, parsley, and oregano to the melted cheese mixture and blend well.
  6. Spread the cheese and meat mixture onto slices of rye bread.
  7. Place the prepared rye breads on a cookie sheet and freeze until set.
  8. Broil on the lowest rack of the oven until browned.
  9. Store any leftovers in Ziploc bags for later use.
