Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 16 oz. drained sauerkraut
  • 2 handfuls egg noodles
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 3 Tbsp. milk
  • shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef with chopped onion in a skillet.
  2. Drain well to remove excess fat.
  3. Layer half of the cooked meat and onion mixture in the bottom of a casserole dish.
  4. Top with drained sauerkraut.
  5. Add the remaining meat and onion mixture over the sauerkraut.
  6. Sprinkle uncooked egg noodles evenly on top.
  7. Combine the cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, and milk, then spread this mixture over the layered ingredients.
  8. Cover the casserole dish and bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 30 minutes.
  9. Uncover and sprinkle with 1/2 to 3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese.
  10. Bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
