Ingredients

  • 1 gal. water
  • 3 lb. pork hocks
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 sliced potato
  • 1/4 head cabbage, coarsely chopped
  • 1 c. sliced carrots
  • 1/3 c. pickle juice
  • 2 kosher dill pickles, chopped
  • 1 tsp. dill weed
  • 1 tsp. pepper

Instructions

  1. Put water in a kettle and add pork hocks and diced onion.
  2. Cook for 1 hour.
  3. Remove pork hocks and let cool.
  4. Once cooled, dice the meat and set aside.
  5. Add potato, cabbage, and carrots to the kettle.
  6. Cook until vegetables are tender.
  7. Add pickle juice, chopped pickles, dill weed, pepper, and diced meat to the kettle.
  8. Cook until heated through.
