Instructions
- Combine the dates and hot water; cool and set aside.
- Cream together the margarine, sugar and eggs.
- Sift the flour, baking soda and salt and add gradually.
- Stir in date mix to flour mix. Add the vanilla and 1/2 cup chocolate chips.
- Spread batter in greased 10 x 15-inch pan.
- Sprinkle batter with chopped nuts or chocolate chips.
- Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes.
