Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1.5 tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 0.75 cups vegetable oil
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1.5 teaspoons almond extract
  • 1.5 teaspoons butter flavoring
  • Orange glaze

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except the orange glaze in a large bowl and beat for 2 minutes at medium speed of an electric mixer.
  2. Pour the batter into two greased and floured 8-inch by 4-inch by 3-inch loaf pans.
  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Allow the bread to cool for 5 minutes, then pour the orange glaze over it.
  5. Cool for an additional 5 minutes, then remove from pans and place on a rack to cool completely.
