Dogpatch Style Pork Chops feature a tangy, sweet pineapple and catsup sauce with tender chops served over rice, perfect for hearty, family-friendly dinners with bold flavors.

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 1 (9 oz.) can crushed pineapple
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups cooked rice

Instructions

  1. Trim a little fat from the edge of the pork chops and fry out in a heavy skillet.
  2. Remove the pork chops from the skillet.
  3. Flour the chops and brown them in the hot fat.
  4. Combine vinegar, catsup, crushed pineapple, soy sauce, brown sugar, and salt to make the sauce.
  5. Spoon fat from the skillet and pour the catsup mixture over and around the chops.
  6. Cover and cook over low heat for 1 1/4 hours or until very tender.
  7. Spoon sauce over the chops once or twice during cooking and add a little water as needed.
  8. Serve the pork chops and sauce with cooked rice.
