Pork Chops Pizzaiola

Ingredients
- 4 (3/4-inch) thick pork chops ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper ⓘ
- 2 garlic cloves, minced ⓘ
- 2 c. thickly sliced mushrooms ⓘ
- 2 large tomatoes, peeled, seeded and diced ⓘ
- 1 large green pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces ⓘ
- 1/2 c. dry white wine or broth ⓘ
- 1 tsp. dried oregano leaves ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 4 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese ⓘ
Instructions
- Sprinkle chops on both sides with black pepper.
- Heat a heavy skillet over medium heat.
- Add pork chops and brown 5 minutes per side.
- Add minced garlic, sliced mushrooms, diced tomatoes, and green pepper pieces to the skillet.
- Place the browned pork chops on top of the vegetables.
- Pour dry white wine or broth over the chops and vegetables.
- Sprinkle dried oregano leaves evenly over everything.
- Cover the skillet and cook for 15 to 20 minutes until the pork chops are no longer pink and vegetables are crisp.
