Pork Hock Dinner

- Wash the pork hocks and place them in a large pot.
- Cover the hocks with hot water and add 2 teaspoons of salt.
- Simmer covered until the meat is nearly tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
- Add chopped peeled onions, peeled and halved potatoes, and carrots.
- Cover and cook for 15 minutes.
- Add cabbage cut into wedges and cook covered for an additional 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
- Sprinkle the vegetables with salt, pepper, and paprika before serving.
