Ingredients

  • 4 pork hock
  • 4 medium carrots
  • 4 medium onions
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1 small cabbage
  • 2 tsp salt
  • hot water

Instructions

  1. Wash the pork hocks and place them in a large pot.
  2. Cover the hocks with hot water and add 2 teaspoons of salt.
  3. Simmer covered until the meat is nearly tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
  4. Add chopped peeled onions, peeled and halved potatoes, and carrots.
  5. Cover and cook for 15 minutes.
  6. Add cabbage cut into wedges and cook covered for an additional 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
  7. Sprinkle the vegetables with salt, pepper, and paprika before serving.
