Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and add 2 cups of sifted sugar.
  2. Add egg yolks, one at a time, and beat until well blended.
  3. Mix in vanilla and almond extracts.
  4. Combine flour with baking powder and alternate adding it with milk to the batter.
  5. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into a prepared cake pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
