Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup soft lard or butter
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 6 cups flour (approximately)
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in warm water.
  2. In a large bowl, mix 2 cups warm water, sugar, soft lard or butter, and salt.
  3. Add 2 cups of flour to the mixture.
  4. Beat the mixture, then add the slightly beaten egg and the yeast mixture.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Add the remaining flour gradually.
  7. Mix with a spoon about 60 strokes until the dough is soft.
  8. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl.
  9. Grease the top of the dough.
  10. Punch down the dough and let it rise again.
  11. Form the dough into desired shapes.
  12. Let the shaped buns rise.
  13. Bake at 375°F until medium brown, about 15 minutes.
