- Dissolve the yeast in warm water.
- In a large bowl, mix 2 cups warm water, sugar, soft lard or butter, and salt.
- Add 2 cups of flour to the mixture.
- Beat the mixture, then add the slightly beaten egg and the yeast mixture.
- Mix well.
- Add the remaining flour gradually.
- Mix with a spoon about 60 strokes until the dough is soft.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl.
- Grease the top of the dough.
- Punch down the dough and let it rise again.
- Form the dough into desired shapes.
- Let the shaped buns rise.
- Bake at 375°F until medium brown, about 15 minutes.
