Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 tsp. vinegar
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 boxes puffed rice

Instructions

  1. Boil together sugar, water, and vinegar until the mixture reaches the soft ball stage.
  2. Add butter and salt; boil until a small amount dropped in cold water becomes brittle.
  3. Add puffed rice that has been crisped in the oven, mixing well.
  4. Pour the mixture onto buttered sheets and spread evenly.
  5. Let cool completely, then cut into squares or bars.
