Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup All Bran
  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup oleo or butter

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening with sugar, reserving about 1 teaspoon of sugar.
  2. Add yeast to warm water with the reserved sugar and let it activate.
  3. Add beaten egg, salt, yeast mixture, water, and All Bran to the creamed shortening and sugar.
  4. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl and let rise until doubled in size.
  6. Knead the dough lightly and form into small balls.
  7. Roll each ball in melted butter.
  8. Stack the buttered balls in a greased bundt pan.
  9. Let the stacked dough rise until doubled in size.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes.
