Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup Wesson oil
  • 2 teaspoons soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2 cups pumpkin

Instructions

  1. Grease and flour 4 (1 pound) coffee cans.
  2. Fill each can about half full with the batter.
  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  4. Allow to cool before removing from cans.
  5. Make at least 1 day before serving. If desired, add 1 cup raisins and 1 cup nuts before baking.
