Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked and mashed pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • dash of salt
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon canned milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 9-inch unbaked pie shell

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, cornstarch, allspice, cinnamon, and salt together.
  2. Add eggs to dry ingredients and stir to combine.
  3. Mix in mashed pumpkin until well incorporated.
  4. Add canned milk and melted butter, stirring to mix well.
  5. Add vanilla and stir.
  6. Pour the filling into the unbaked pie shell.
  7. Bake at 325°F until the pie is done (about 40 minutes).
  8. Dot the top with butter before serving.
