Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 (8 oz.) whipped topping
  • 1 can sliced apples
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Mix the yellow cake mix as directed on the box.
  2. Pour the prepared batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
  3. Drain the can of sliced apples.
  4. Place the drained apple slices evenly on top of the batter.
  5. In a bowl, combine rolled oats, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and flour.
  6. Cut in the margarine until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  7. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool slightly, then top with whipped topping before serving.
