Ingredients

  • 1 German chocolate or yellow cake mix
  • 14 oz. pkg. Kraft caramels
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • chocolate chips (optional)
  • pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bake one cake mix according to package directions in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. While the cake is baking, melt the package of caramels.
  3. Combine the melted caramels with 1 stick of margarine and the evaporated milk.
  4. When the cake is done, pour the caramel mixture on top.
  5. Optional: sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans.
