Ingredients

  • 16 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Karo light syrup
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Put 16 cups popped popcorn in a large grocery sack.
  2. Combine 1 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup Karo light syrup, 1 stick butter, and 1/2 teaspoon salt; stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
  3. Pour the caramel mixture into the bag over the popcorn.
  4. Shake the bag well to coat the popcorn evenly.
  5. Microwave the bag for 30 seconds.
  6. Shake the bag again, then microwave for another 30 seconds.
  7. Pour the caramel-coated popcorn onto foil and let it cool.
