Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco
  • 1 cup regular rice
  • 15 oz can black-eyed peas, drained
  • 3 slices cooked bacon, crumbled or 3 tablespoons real bacon bits

Instructions

  1. Heat water, chopped onion, salt, Tabasco, and rice to boiling.
  2. Cover and cook for 20 to 25 minutes.
  3. Stir in drained black-eyed peas and crumbled bacon or bacon bits.
  4. Let stand covered for 10 minutes before serving.
