- Ensure all ingredients are about 75°F (24°C).
- Sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl.
- Add the melted butter and beat to combine.
- In a separate bowl, beat the milk with the egg until light.
- Pour the liquid mixture into the sifted ingredients and mix well.
- Fold in the broken nut meats or part dates and part nut meats.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
- Bake for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
