Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. warm water
  • 1/3 c. butter or margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. sour cream

Instructions

  1. Mix yeast and warm water and set aside in a warm place until foamy.
  2. Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs, yeast mixture, and vanilla.
  3. Add half of the flour and the sour cream to the mixture.
  4. Continue adding the rest of the flour to form a soft dough.
  5. Roll out the dough immediately and spread with filling, then roll up.
  6. Place in well-greased pans and prick tops with a fork in several places.
  7. Cover and let rise for about 40 minutes or more.
  8. Bake in a 350°F oven for 30 minutes; test for doneness and bake longer if necessary.
