Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups sifted fresh peaches or drained and rinsed canned peaches
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 egg
  • vanilla

Instructions

  1. Place peaches in a lightly greased 8-inch square baking dish. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar.
  2. Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar, beating well.
  3. Add self-rising flour and egg; mix well.
  4. Stir in vanilla.
  5. Spoon mixture over sugared peaches.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown.
