- Slice a layer of yellow squash thin to cover the bottom of a Corning Ware dish.
- Add salt, pepper, and slices of butter on top of the squash layer.
- Add a layer of sliced onions on top of the buttered squash.
- Repeat the layers: squash, salt, pepper, and butter.
- Add a layer of sliced tomatoes, then repeat with salt, pepper, and butter.
- Add a layer of sliced green bell pepper, then repeat with salt, pepper, and butter.
- Bake in a 350°F oven until the vegetables are tender.
- Place slices of cheese on top and bake until the cheese melts.
