Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix sugar, softened butter, vanilla extract, almond extract, and egg in a large bowl with a spoon.
  3. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  4. Divide the dough into two halves.
  5. Shape one half into two strips, each 15 inches long and 3 inches wide, spaced 3 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar.
  6. Bake until golden, approximately 7 to 9 minutes; cool for 2 minutes.
  7. Cut crosswise into 1-inch slices and drizzle with glaze.
  8. Repeat with remaining dough.
  9. Store loosely covered.
