- Heat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix sugar, softened butter, vanilla extract, almond extract, and egg in a large bowl with a spoon.
- Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Divide the dough into two halves.
- Shape one half into two strips, each 15 inches long and 3 inches wide, spaced 3 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake until golden, approximately 7 to 9 minutes; cool for 2 minutes.
- Cut crosswise into 1-inch slices and drizzle with glaze.
- Repeat with remaining dough.
- Store loosely covered.
