Ingredients

  • bacon
  • 1 lb. round steak
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 3 carrots
  • 1 medium onion

Instructions

  1. In a very heavy skillet, arrange half strips of bacon over the bottom.
  2. Cut the round steak into strips and cover the bacon with the strips.
  3. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Cover the meat with sliced carrots and onions, then top with very thinly sliced potatoes.
  5. Add salt, pepper, and parsley flakes.
  6. Cover and cook over very low heat for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, until done.
  7. Do not lift the lid unless the cooking is too fast and needs a little water.
  8. It can be cooked longer if necessary, just ensure it remains on low heat.
