Ingredients

  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Wesson Oil
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup White Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Soda dissolved in water
  • 5 cups Flour
  • 2 tablespoons Sour Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  2. Add eggs to the creamed mixture and beat well.
  3. Mix in vanilla and the dissolved soda in water.
  4. Add baking powder, salt, sour milk, and flour gradually to form a dough that can be rolled out.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  6. Cut into desired shapes and place a spoonful of raisin filling on each piece.
  7. Fold or top with another piece of dough and seal edges, if necessary.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
