Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1/2 lb. margarine
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 oz. vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 cups cake flour
  • 8 oz. raisins

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter and margarine.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Gradually add sugar, vanilla, salt, and flour, mixing until combined.
  4. Fold in raisins and chopped pecans.
  5. Pour batter into a prepared baking pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 1/2 hours or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
