Raisin-Oat Squares

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. melted butter or margarine
  • 1 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. rolled oats
  • 1/4 c. orange juice
  • 1 c. seedless raisins
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter or margarine and brown sugar.
  3. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
  4. Sift all-purpose flour with baking powder and salt.
  5. Blend into the sugar mixture.
  6. Add rolled oats, orange juice, seedless raisins and chopped nuts (optional).
  7. Mix ingredients thoroughly and spread into a greased 9-inch square pan.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until browned.
  9. Cut into squares while warm.
