Ingredients

  • 5 Tbsp cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c flour
  • 1 c sour milk
  • 5 Tbsp melted shortening
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Dissolve cocoa in melted shortening; add beaten egg.
  2. Sift together sugar, flour, and soda.
  3. Add alternately to the cocoa mixture with sour milk.
  4. Add vanilla and beat until smooth.
  5. Grease and flour the baking pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes.
