Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. oil
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 c. water or meat stock
  • 6 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan and brown the flour in the oil.
  2. In a separate bowl, dissolve chili powder in 2 cups of water or meat stock.
  3. Add the chili mixture to the browned flour and stir well.
  4. Add salt and garlic powder, then blend the mixture thoroughly.
  5. Bring the sauce to a bubbly boil, stirring frequently.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 5 minutes.
