Ingredients

  • 1 lb. pink pinto beans
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 Tbsp. bacon fat
  • dash of liquid red pepper seasoning
  • dash of liquid red pepper seasoning

Instructions

  1. Pick over the beans to remove any debris.
  2. Rinse the beans under cold running water.
  3. Combine the beans with water to cover in a large kettle.
  4. Bring the water to a boil and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let the beans stand for 1 hour.
