- Put yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar in lukewarm water and set aside to activate.
- Melt margarine in boiling water, then add cold water to make it lukewarm.
- In a large bowl, combine the margarine-water mixture with the remaining sugar and salt, stirring well.
- Add the yeast mixture to the bowl and mix thoroughly.
- Gradually add the flour and mix into a soft dough.
- Pour some corn oil into a large bowl and place the dough inside, turning to coat with oil to prevent a crust.
- Cover and refrigerate the dough overnight.
- When ready to bake, punch down the dough and pinch off small pieces.
- Place the pieces into a greased pan, then let them rise in a warm place.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the rolls in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
