Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 1/4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon margarine
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried onion flakes
  • 1 small can mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley

Instructions

  1. Microwave the rice with chicken broth, margarine, salt, and onion flakes for 5 minutes on High.
  2. Continue cooking for 15 to 20 minutes at 50% power or Medium.
  3. Let the rice stand for at least 5 minutes after cooking.
  4. Add the mushrooms and cook until heated through, being careful not to let the rice become mushy.
  5. Serve hot, topped with parsley.
