Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Log Cabin syrup
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • dash of salt

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine syrup, margarine, and sugar in a saucepan.
  3. Bring to a boil; boil gently for 5 minutes, uncovered, stirring occasionally.
  4. Cool slightly.
  5. Place pecan halves in the unbaked pie shell.
  6. In a bowl, beat the eggs, vanilla, and salt together.
  7. Gradually stir in the cooled syrup mixture into the egg mixture.
  8. Pour the mixture over the pecans in the pie shell.
  9. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
