Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter flavored Crisco
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 2/3 cups unsifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 36 chocolate kisses, unwrapped
  • 36 pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Cream the Crisco, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and egg in a large bowl at medium speed of an electric mixer.
  2. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, mixing well.
  4. Shape the dough into 36 small balls.
  5. Wrap each chocolate kiss with a dough ball, ensuring the kiss is completely enclosed.
  6. Place the dough-covered kisses on an ungreased baking sheet.
  7. Top each with a pecan half, pressing gently into the dough.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes or until golden.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack.
