Instructions
- Peel and slice the onions.
- Put the sliced onions into cold water and bring to a boil. Drain.
- Add more water and salt; cook until the onions are transparent. Drain.
- Place the cooked onions and butter in a casserole dish and let cool.
- Add grated Old English cheese and sprinkle crushed Ritz crackers over the top.
- Bake at 350°F for 1 hour until golden and bubbly.
